How to get involved on campus during the pandemic

COVID-19 has hindered everyone’s ability to get involved on campus and meet with new and old friends alike. It is natural to crave community, but this natural need for social interaction and community involvement has not been made easier by the global pandemic we currently face. Below are some tips to get involved on campus during a pandemic.

  • Meet up with people!
    • Have a socially distanced picnic or zoom friends. COVID-19 doesn’t have to be as socially isolating as it has been for many.
  • Join a club!
    • This is a great way to meet new people and experience new things. Joining a club allows you to meet people with similar interests and form new friendships. Click on the title above or here to learn more!
  • Go outside!
    • Even just sitting outside on Meredith’s campus may make it feel more like home. Going outside will relieve stress and switch up your routine for the better especially if you have been cooped up inside all day.
  • Explore Raleigh!
    • Meredith is in the capital city of NC! Living here, pandemic or not, gives you the perfect opportunity to find out what Raleigh is all about. Go get ice cream, bike at the art museum, or take a walk on Hillsborough St. These are all things you can do safely while also exploring the town you live in!
  • Get a job!
    • On campus jobs give Meredith a different feel. When you are working for the college, you get to know the ins and outs of what it means to be at Meredith. This is a great way to make some money and get involved on campus. You may find jobs on MyMeredith under the on/off campus job tab.
